Our responsibilities are to promote, develop, regulate, encourage and improve the sport of fencing in New Brunswick as well as to represent and coordinate the interests of New Brunswick fencers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for executing projects and tasks to meet the goals of Fencing-Escrime NB (FENB). The ED implements the policies established by the Board of Directors, provides leadership, coordination, direction and guidance in FENB\u2019s activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Duties and Responsibilities<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main responsibilities of the Executive Director include the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conducting general administration, such as record keeping, updating memberships with all provincial and national bodies, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of FENB<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting the Board of Directors and implementing Board policy and decisions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monitoring and overseeing FENB finances<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinating FENB tournaments and other events<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Managing risk as it relates to the sport of fencing in New Brunswick<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Representing FENB to regulatory bodies (national and\/or provincial), other agencies, community and civic organizations, donors, funders and supporters, and the general public<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fundraising, including seeking out and applying for relevant grants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinating and managing volunteers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintaining communication with key stakeholders and the media<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Essential Qualifications<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong organization and time management skills (workload can vary significantly week to week)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrated effective leadership skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to work independently, but capable of delegating tasks to others when needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to work many weekends during the fencing season (September to June)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to travel in the province\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asset Qualifications<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of and experience with Google Suite products and social media\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience working with a sport organization<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of the sport of fencing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience working with and directing volunteers\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bilingualism (English and French)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a part-time contract position requiring the use of a home-based office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please send your resum\u00e9 and cover letter to <\/span><a href=\"mailto:fencingnb@gmail.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fencingnb@gmail.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by end of day May 31, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A non-profit organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors, Fencing-Escrime NB (FENB) is incorporated as the provincial branch of the Canadian Fencing Federation with the mandate to govern the sport of fencing in the province of New Brunswick.
